What glass can be used for reducing overheating in the summer?

Solar control glass can be used where there may be a risk of overheating in summer. These range from low performance (Pilkington Optifloat™ Tinted) through medium (Pilkington Suncool™ 70/35 and Pilkington Suncool™ One 60/40) to high performance (Pilkington Suncool™ Pro T). The lower the g value, the less heat is allowed through into the building during the summer. However, this generally needs to be balanced with the light transmittance (how much daylight is admitted to reduce the usage of electric lighting).
